Sign Variance Committee
A sign variance is required when the Regulations in the Sign By-law cannot be met due to various circumstances. Typically, the variance requests the reduction of a certain requirement, i.e. setbacks, face area or building height for reasons as required by the applicant.
- Council of the Town of Midland established the Sign Variance Committee under authority The Municipal Act, to review and grant decisions on applications for the sign variances pertaining to the regulations contained in the Sign By-law, 2007-70, as amended. The public meetings are scheduled for the second Thursday of the month (if necessary) or at the call of the Chair.
- The Sign Variance is comprised of five members; three ratepayers and two members of Council:
